Design Expo Flooring Center

I am building a new house and needed runners for staircases. I stopped by a local flooring store and got an estimate. I then found Design Expo on Angie's List. I called the store in the morning and Scott came to my house that very afternoon. He is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He made a recommendation for the type of carpet that would wear well on high traffic stairs. His estimate was more reasonable than the first store and it was for a better quality carpet. I went to the store to pick out a color and Gene was very helpful. The installers did an excellent job. They were punctual and they cleaned up after the install really well. Very reasonably priced. Gene did a great job providing professional recommendations and I never felt as if I was getting pressured into anything. He was very thorough in the plan prior to beginning work and the few issues we ran into were addressed promptly (e.g. delayed materials due to the hurricane, materials not represented 100% accurately). Mr. Young (project manager) did a great job dealing with my family, addresses a plethora of questions, and making sure the installation was professional and 100% up to satisfaction. Will definitely go with this company if I need to finish the basement or plan on changing the floors again.

They installed my new hardwood floors and it looks great. The problem is that they didn't put any backing under the floor so it sounds like you're walking on a piece of cardboard - now every step makes a hollow sound. Even the cat sounds like he's wearing flip-flips. They also used cheap bright white quarter-rounds and they look liks s%*t. I actually had to pay another company to remove the white quarter-rounds and replace them with the right natural wood ones. What a pain.

I will not be using this company for any of my flooring needs after my floor was fixed after the initial install and I am now having an issue with the flooring again. Now I find out the flooring is no longer available. It seems like the material used is cheap(I guess that’s why it’s no longer available). Very disappointed since this company has helped me in the past and did great work.

They gave me a very good package for carpet installed in my mothers home (she is a senior). It must have been the cheapest carpet in the world. She lives alone and it has worn down, bubbled and it looks horrible after a couple of years. I have never seen anything like this ever. Never again. I have to have it replaced it looks so bad.
