Detroit Decks is an amazing company. I had six different companies come out and give me estimates and I only felt Matt was really trying to earn my business. Matt was able to work with me to gain my business and stay within my budget, never overselling, no intimidation tactics; just honest and friendly. Matt spoke to me like we had been friends for years. Once I agreed on terms and signed with Detroit Decks, every step was made easy for me with scheduling, design and product choice. Once construction began the workers and foreman (Willy) were amazing along with Matt and office staff who always kept me in the loop. I actually had a really good salesperson come out for the quote, or at least I thought so at first. I genuinely do not understand why Detroit is in their name because the pricing I received did not reflect fairness or transparency. For my 96 square foot 8’ by 12’ deck, I was quoted nearly 23,000 dollars for a very basic rework. They did mention that demo was included, but even with that in mind, the price did not match the scope of work. I expected a fair price, not a cheap one, but this was far from reasonable. What made the experience worse is that they did not provide an itemized estimate. It was simply a few vague words and a final price, which felt extremely unprofessional. I did not want to leave a review, but I was genuinely disappointed. I truly hope this is not how they have be
