We recently completed a long-overdue kitchen update project with Dovetail Custom Kitchens and cannot speak highly enough, not only of the fabulous results, but also of the experience working with Shawn, Kim and Evelyn. They were all professional, and personable and made us feel like we were working with long-time friends. We are thrilled with our new kitchen. The decision to renovate was years in the making. We interviewed several design firms and it wasn’t until we met the team at Dovetail Custom Kitchens that we were ready to pull the trigger. Heather and Shawn are professional and personable--you will call them friends. They took us through design options, met us multiple times at the stoneyard, helped us in choosing tiles, sinks, faucets, hardware to complete our vision. We are so happy with our new kitchen! Heather took meticulous measurements and then created several designs for us to consider. She made use of every possible space and integrated several unique features such as pull out shelves in the corner cabinets, a pull out spice rack, and a pop up mixer stand. The original layout had very limited space, counter tops, drawers, and storage and it was very hard for both of us to work in the kitchen without bumping into each other. Heather took the time to really understand what we wanted in terms of aesthetics and utility. She showed us numerous design options that allowed us to customize the design to our liking and keep it consistent with the style of our home. I never want to leave this kitchen. Heather and Shawn created the kitchen of our dreams! First of all, the attention to detail. Heather’s architectural background was so important to me as it meant that her measurements are so precise - measure twice, cut once, right? No! She measures like 100 times. This, in the long-run, means that our kitchen has the exact right flow around the island, between island and counters, heights, etc. The quality of the cabinetry is outstanding (I loved the punny & professional business that delivered them - The Cupboard Wagon!) and the small things we added in the cabinets for function are game changers. Working with Shawn, Kim, and Rosanne at Dovetail Custom Kitchens was a great experience. They were so helpful, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and kind for my entire countertop and backsplash project. Rosanne accompanied me to choose the quartzite that would look best with my cabinets. Kim helped me choose new hardware for the cabinets and also the sink and new garbage disposal. Shawn was informed every step of the way, and he was in my kitchen for the installation! If I texted or emailed a question to any of them, they got back to me immediately! They also touched base with one another about my questions so I felt it was really a team effort. As a result of feeling well cared for, I recommend Dovetail to anyone!
