Austin and his team at Dutchman did an excellent job helping us carry out a 26-acre NRCS EQIP forest stewardship project on our property near Ely. The project involved varied and difficult terrain and required a number of different approaches depending on the area. Austin walked through the entire process with us and was there every step of the way as we worked through the requirements. Their crew was knowledgeable, careful with the land, and followed the plan closely to improve forest health and reduce fire risk. We ended up with a much healthier forest and couldn’t be happier with the result. Highly recommend them if you want someone who truly understands forestry and takes pride in doing the work right. We carefully worked with Austin, Mike and their crew, planning a large and complicated project, nine acres in total. Austin was quick to respond to any questions and his crew was very responsive as well. Their certification as arborists helped to make the end result not only beautiful, but also it sets the stage for the regeneration of a healthy, balanced and safe forest. Their advanced techniques and use of chipping to deal with the fire threat, quickly shifts the ecosystem to a base for new, preferred trees to take over. Austin and his crew were fantastic! We had an enormous towering white cedar tree and two others that took turns dropping heavy branches onto our powerlines! (Two winters in a row we lost electricity to our cabin and had to replace the mantel on our roof!) Dutchman Tree Service to the rescue! This crew defied gravity scaling heights I’d only seen previously in a circus! They safely cut down the sprawling tops in sections, and then felled the giant trunks with precision in very tight quarters avoiding both our cabin and garage as well as those vulnerable power lines! The big sections of cut wood were stacked neatly for us to use and the rest of the debris was hauled away. Everything was done in one day! The Dutchman Tree Service is the best in the business! Austin and his team are true professionals at their craft and with the way they treated myself and my property. His pricing was straight forward and very reasonable. He worked with the power company to disconnect and reconnect the main overhead line to keep his crew and our property safe.
