Staff doesn’t even know how to read their own bills in billing department. Manager has no manners in the slightest. Rudest interaction I’ve ever had with an electric company and I have over a 100 rental properties.

Moved from Colorado last year and EILP has provided excellent service so far. Power pole struck by lightening last August and they were here in less than 30 minutes to repair pole fuse or whatever it was. Pole Men were pleasant, even humorous, and repaired issued in less than 10 minutes. I noticed for three months my bill was exactly the same so I called. A very nice woman explained that the meter must have been effected by the lightening bolt and would be repaired-quickly! LOL. Also I would not be billed an estimate based on prior usage which is what the power company in Colorado would have done. I'm confused about rate raises without permission or notice. I believe Iowa Utilities Board must approve rate increases and provide 30 days prior notice. Even if there were different options I

Stay away. Extortion racket. High-prices. High fees. 3x base charge what other powerco's charge. It's not just prices, it's customer service. They sound like they feel they got their backs up against the wall all the time and thus are very dismissive or rudimentary in their dialect. Run up usage charges on you even if you're disconnected. Huge services deposits required. Huge connect&reconnect fees. They getchya coming, staying, and going. If you can go with another, or LP, or block-level cooperative, or alternative, do it! You'll thank yourself in the ....short run, AND long run!

I've lived in a mobile home for over 25 years & have had REC for that long. I've never had a problem with them. Always courteous when I call.

Trying to setup new service. No luck in getting a hold of anyone. I am going to go solar or wind turbine. This place sucks.
