Engel Air Conditioning

Our heater broke down on 11/3. Engel replaced our igniter the same day; technician had one in his truck. Early morning of 11/15 igniter broke down. We called immediately. Technician who came did not have one. Since it was Sat. morning, he said he would get someone on it this morning (Mon.). It is cold and we are getting the run-around when we call — this is not some rare part that must be special ordered.. We have had Engel for over 40 yrs. and are extremely disappointed: how is it that the first technician had the part in his truck, and the second one said we have to wait three days, and we are STILL WAITING in the cold?

Some takeaways before I start: 1 - Do not work with this company. I have had no issues with Donna, the receptionist, or with any of the techs. However, all it takes is one bad apple. In this case, the owner. 2 - Always take before and after pictures of any work you do to your home - especially with this company. 3- Always ask for a copy of a contracts liability insurance or insurance certificate before they start the work. 4 - Lastly, just do not work with this company. The owner tried his best to deny any wrongdoings despite their techs coming out to fix what they did not properly install initially. Engel Air did a great job from start to finish for replacing my outdoor and indoor unit! I requested an estimate and Dave came out the very next morning. A few days later we were booked for a replacement. Tj & Chris came out and did a great job and were very nice!

I was referred to Engel through Home Depot when shopping around for quotes when our AC broke unexpectedly in the middle of this hot summer. A tech visit determined replacing the very old system was the most cost effective solution. Dave got back to us same day and was able to provide a fast quote over the phone and respectfully talked us through options and timing. Very thankful for the quick response and thorough information!

This company is the WORST to deal with! First, Engel installed my unit through Home Depot 9 years ago. Last year, they came out 3x to repair the unit. This year, my unit has not worked to my satisfaction. It was the one of the hottest summers on record and I suffered through all of it. My unit was down 9 weeks this summer, beginning May 15. They gave numerous explanations, replacing a number of the components. But nothing worked. I repeatedly asked for the owners to call me. I am still waiting for them to call me. I asked requested for the Rheem representative to call me, only to be told he doesn't like to work with customers.
