I have worked with Evan and his team for Almost 2 decades. Evan is a maestro of design and ingenuity. He turned a concrete “alley in the sky” into a glorious outdoor room. He and his team are responsive to Deadlines and building rules, which is essential in Manhattan. I truly love my garden and I am delighted with our partnership.

Turning a coop's roof into a roof garden is a daunting and expensive undertaking. Shareholder support for our project was mixed. Our board decided to take on the challenge despite reservations. Fortunately we connected with ECLLD who patiently guided us through the design process. Construction had a few hiccups but ECLLD worked with us to resolve the problems with little impact on the budget. The garden opened last summer (2019) on July 4th. The result has been spectacular. Even the nay-sayers praised the result. This spring/summer (2020) the results have been even more amazing. Every week some new flora blooms evoking "oohs" and "ahhs" from the residents. ECLLD knows how to make a garden that will dazzle!

We used Evan to design our penthouse garden back in 2015. It's beautiful, lush, architectural and gives utility where previously there was none. Evan's company has been coming back periodically to take care of it and have done an outsiding job. I can't recommend them enough!

I recently finished a project with Evan Lai Landscape Design for my outdoor terrace space in Chelsea. I had originally interviewed 4 different firms, and decided on proceeding Evan and his team. This was the best decision I ever made. After the initial meetings where we discussed what I was looking for, Evan came back with different options to choose from...and I loved one more than the next. Everyone on the team was EXTREMELY responsive, and really took the time to understand what I wanted. The team was great about presenting different alternatives that would allow me to stay in budget. Every step of the way was seamless, and when installation was completed, it looked almost identical to the renderings of the project. Evan C. Lai is a gardener that can accomplish miracles in any garden. He has been my gardener for many years and I can attest that no matter how complex or unusual your request the results will be amazingly good. It takes creativity and expertise to design a Dada garden, one of three terraces Evan has designed for me. He has always exceeded my expectations.
