We recently replaced our original 20-year-old driveway in Scarsdale, which had developed significant cracking. After reviewing a range of bids that varied widely in scope and price, we chose LaRocca & Sons — and they absolutely lived up to their strong local reputation. From the initial estimate and permitting to job-day execution and follow-up, the entire team was efficient, friendly, and highly professional. What a production! Ten workers and four industrial vehicles showed up to first perform demolition and removal of two top layers of asphalt on my cracked and deteriorated driveway. After sealing off the bottom two layers with tar, the crew returned four days later to add three inches of premium grade (6F) asphalt, which is used for commercial and municipal parking lots receiving heavy traffic. Mr. La Rocca, himself, was the foreman of the crew, and he actively supervised the delivery and hand grooming of the asphalt as work progressed along my extensive semicircular driveway with its side extension. I just had a retaining wall built in my backyard by Flavio LaRocca & Sons.  I’ve used the company in the past for driveway and masonry work, and as usual, the work was excellently done.  Flavio is a consummate professional and a pleasure to work with. His crews are always diligent, excellent artisans who do quality and leave the worksite cleaner than they found did.  And best of all, the office manager, Cathy, is a joy to work with.  Thanks again.

No respect for my time. I can’t speak to their work because they never showed up. I had an appointment to go over a project and get an estimate. I left work early to make this appointment, which I told them I’d be doing when the appointment was made. I arrived at home 10 minutes prior to the appointment. Five minutes later I opened my garage door and proceeded to work on my car in the driveway. Half an hour later and no one has shown. I called to find out what was going on. Fifteen minutes later I call again only to be told that Mr. La Rocca was here and rang my bell but no one was home. Either he came very early or never came at all. I received phone calls and text messages in advance of the appointment confirming that if be there but no one called when there wasn’t an answer at

Mr. LaRocca and his team did a tremendous job. The craftsmanship was top notch. He communicated with us throughout the project. They were very reliable and worked hard every day until the project was complete. He also had very creative ideas to problem solve a rather difficult landscape terrain. I would definitely recommend them.
