Last week, Fairland was hired to assess a hot water heater outage by my property management company BMG. Fairland visited the home and assessed an internal leak, warranting complete replacement alongside $600-$1000 of work on top of the over $3k it would to cost to replace. They gave no option to repair the hot water heater. Since the unit was only 6 years old, I requested a second opinion on my own. The second company (Smith HVAC), came out and fixed the unit for 100’s of dollars, not thousands. Either, Fairland was attempting to take advantage of a property manager/owner relationship, or the technician lacked the required skill to assess and complete a repair. They could not figure out what was wrong with the unit they installed after 10-20 visits. They were doing a horrible job troubleshooting and were very careless.
