We've had a bunch of work done on our house over the years and poor communication, rushed work, missed deadlines, and unsatisfactory craftsmanship had us dreading some necessary projects. We had been procrastinating because we didn't want to deal with the inevitable disappointment. Excellent Job on Kitchen Lighting & Ceiling! The old fluorescent light in my kitchen stopped working, leaving me in the dark and prompting me to finally have recessed lighting installed. After a lot of research, I selected Simply Home Maintenance for the job, and glad I did. Chris installed the recessed lighting with dimmer in a timely manner, allowing me to see what I was doing once again. He later repaired and painted the ceiling, with fantastic results. This was our first experience with Chris, selected based largely on proximity and his strong reviews, and wow -- definitely a terrific find! He addressed some wood rot around doors and windows for us and the quality of the work was excellent, he kept us informed every step of the way, he showed up when he said he would, and there was no bait and switch around the price quoted. When he did discover some additional issues, there was no upsell pressure at all, but based on the work he had done to that point, we were very comfortable adding some scope to the job (at a very fair price). I highly recommend Simply Home Maintence for home repair /maintenence projects. Chris O'Gwin is a highly skilled and reliable contractor who also happens to be a very congenial and trust worthy person. He replaced several light fixtures, diagnosed and repaired an electrical problem, repaired a busted water pipe and patched all of the drywall. While his services are a bit pricey, they are fair and reflect the high quality of his work product. He did not over commit my projects and performed the work as scheduled on the agreed upon day(s) required to do the job. There was no upselling and anything over estimated was clearly adjusted on his final invoice. All in all, I am thoroughly pleased and I would hire him for my next project.
