I truly had a great experience with First Electric Cooperative. The customer service is excellent. All my questions were answered and explained to my understanding. I highly recommend this company for all your electrical needs!
Power is out been out for days, you can not talk to an actual person like you can with Energy. I have left three messages through the phone and on the app. Its still showing there's no outage in my area when the whole neighborhood power is out. This is a small community so I think they don't care and are more interested in getting the larger communities fixed first. There are no down power lines or trees. We're just not a priority. Plus as far as I can see they do not have enough linemen or trucks to accommodate all the customers they have. I don't have a choice but to use this company but I know if I was with energy Arkansas my lights would have already been on. Stop getting more customers First Electric and you can't take care of them, just money hungry.
Beyond fed up with FEC. Multiple occasions where the power just randomly goes out.... Perfectly nice - and hot – day today and it just randomly goes off once again. Never had this issue with any electric company.
For a company that has frequent outages they value themselves too highly. They double customer’s deposit if a payment is made late more than once. They shut off power if payment is not made on time with zero grace period of flexibility. Other electric companies will send a “shut off notice” before the power is turned off, but these guys shut the power off and mail a notice days later. Then they punish you by raising your bill another $75 per month for the next four months if you ever have your service interrupted, even if you pay the full amount due plus the $65 reconnect fee within a few minutes of power being remotely disconnected. It took exactly 2 minutes and 30 seconds for them to remotely reconnect power after the payment was made. That means it’s just a matter of flipping a switch
I have not had trouble with outages but their customer service has no compassion. I get paid every other week, not 1st and 15th. So when my bill is due on the 15th I have to wait till the next week typically when I get paid. I have never missed a payment in 2 years with them. I tragically lost a family member Monday so when I got paid Wednesday I was still in the middle of that with my family and completely forgot until my power was turned off (bill due the 15th… power off the 25th). I simply called to explain the situation and asked them to waive some of the fees which were a pretty good amount. Nothing. Supervisor said there was nothing they could do. Not a sorry. Nothing. Yes I have the money for the fees but this was an extenuating circumstance that they can tell had never happened on
