Five Star Garage Doors

Avoid! POOR QUALITY. We now have wires hanging everywhere. The button is hanging out of wall. The garage door opener is not same as said they were installing. LOOKS SO UNPROFESSIONAL and have to have fixed. The cost at end was not the same as quoted 3 times.

Should've read the other reviews before I called. They were right. Beware these people are scammers and not even a real company. I thought I was calling Certified Garage Doors but their number was under that profile on yelp. Quoted over $1300 for 1 spring, still had to pay $275 for the labor. Found a real company that is doing it for $450 parts labor and warranty included. And that’s for TWO SPRINGS. Not just one! The manager told me how there are multiple pages with bad reviews on yelp but none are his but he's also working to get those bad reviews taken down.... And then turned around and said they were on yelp and thumbnail which they aren't on thumbnail. Needless today, so not waste your time, money or safety. Find someone else.

Nice technician but language barrier. They quoted me $1100. I asked if that was all-in. He said yes. After install was completed, he tacked on labor and taxes, increasing it to $1450. Technician wouldn’t leave without taking payment. Poor workmanship. Wires hanging. Poor cuts on brackets. Wall buttons hanging without secure attachment to wall. Left us with the old opener to dispose of ourselves. When I complained, they refused to offer any form of recompense. I offered to let them keep $200 and uninstall the equipment so I could fund another company to do a better install. They refused. Stay away.

Dishonest prices and operating practices. This company works under an umbrella company that I believe is named “Captive Garage doors” that sends out any rep from any one of their businesses, which can include this business or quite a few others. I have only recently discovered this after being overcharged on an emergency repair. I actually called a completely different company but a tech from 5 Star showed up. We didn’t realize until they handed us an invoice with a the five star company name on it. The tech quoted us $750 to replace two garage springs, and once he had our credit card in hand, charged us $1500 and when questioned, claimed that the initial quote was per spring. We are currently disputing the charge as fraud with our bank and have contacted all three companies to inform

I wish I would have done a little more research and read the reviews for this company before going with them. This is a big lesson learned for sure. The tech was nice but because of a language barrier he was not understanding the purpose for my call to have service done. I do not feel that he put in pieces that we did not need because my husband and I already discussed making these changes. However, the main reason for the call was to fix an issue with the opener but again he did not understand what I was trying to tell him. I just wanted to add and state please do research before going with any company and look over the reviews that is why they are out there. Wish I would have done this oh and the last thing I was not happy about was that they wanted to charge a 5% fee for using a credit
