Forever Hardwood Flooring

Kyle did an amazing job refinishing the floors on my 1940s house! He was very communicative and thorough throughout the process. He answered all my questions and made my home look beautiful. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking to refinish their floors!

We had the carpet pulled up in our living room and the first floor refinished along with two bedrooms upstairs with carpet removed and refinished. We used a natural coat on our floors. It took about a week to do all of that work. Kyle was very professional and also installed transitions for the fireplace and bedrooms that were needed. He provided some tips as well in regards to floor maintenance and answered all of my questions that I had. He installed an oil based finish which should last longer compared to the water based finishes. We love the floors and think that they turned out great! Great value for the work that was completed. I would recommend others to use him.

I'm a Grand Rapids landlord and hired Kyle, the owner of Forever Hardwood Flooring, to refinish the downstairs wood flooring of a 1911 rental house. Kyle and Jake arrived on time and did a fantastic job sanding, staining and polyurethaning. I requested Kyle use oil-based stain and polyurethane and he agreed. Other floor refinishing companies I contacted insisted I use water-based products which don't last as long but do cure faster. Kyle noted that the cherry stain we had originally agreed upon was a poor color match to the wood work in the house, so we switched to rosewood and the results were superior. The crew finished on schedule and did a great job at clean-up. If you are looking for a top-notch floor refinishing company, I give Forever Hardwood Flooring five gold stars.

Original protective finish was more difficult to remove than Kyle antisipated and when he had to use a more course grit sand paper it left swirl gouges in our floors. First tried telling me that "some of that is normal". Really?? I hire a wood floor refinishing company to make my floors look new, you damage them and then tell me some of that is normal? I even offered to pay additional because I explained I wanted them done correctly and was told "no, you will love them when I'm finished". To his credit after I insisted that they were unacceptable as is , he sanded them again but the details, damage he did, stain on our sink and baseboards as well as some damage to our cupboards is what we ended up with. Kyle did an absolutely wonderful job installing my oak hardwood floor. He has very reasonable rates, and very informative about maintenance and upkeep. I also appreciated him returning after install to fix a few concerns. He is dedicated to quality work and it shows!
