Fred was so wonderful to work with. He started by turning part of our bonus room into a bedroom with 2 closets. Then, he brought plumbing upstairs to convert a storage closet into a beautiful, full bathroom. We were so impressed with his work and didn’t want him to leave so we asked him to start our kitchen remodel. We were not prepared for all the challenges/decisions this would involve but with Fred’s guidance and craftsmanship, the final product turned out better than we could have hoped. Fred’s years of experience helped us make the right decisions for our family. He even stepped in during certain decisions when we were clearly over our heads (and budget). We have a home that was built in 1930, that is loaded with charm but needed some adapting to our family’s needs. It had two too many doors and one large window that we never used because it looked directly at the neighbor’s driveway! We also needed to have new windows and floors installed, custom bookshelves built, and of course new paint. We decided to hire Fred because from Day One you could tell he was someone that was knowledgable and someone you can trust. Fred Oakley is the best contractor we have ever worked with. He does what he says he will do, when he says he will do it, at the price he said he would do it for. He is also the *cleanest* contractor we have ever known! Honest, reliable, great communication, improvises when he needs to, listens to what the customer wants -- can't recommend him enough. Our bathroom (not remodeled since the house was built in 1960) is absolutely transformed, thanks to Fred. And a space which the realtor said absolutely could not hold a dishwasher--now has a dishwasher! We are able to stay in our house longer now with Fred's improvements, and we are grateful to him for his professionalism, his courtesy, his good nature, his expertise, his attention to detail, and his skill. I cannot say enough about Fred and the work he does. He completed a whole kitchen and bathroom remodel for me. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. We all know having your house in disarray is stressful. Throughout the project, his punctuality and progress was amazing. He arrived everyday ready to work and kept me constantly informed of the progress. The worksite was always well maintained and organized which cannot be overlooked.
