I contacted Freedom Sweep Chimney Service in July. The first red flag was that he never showed up for the consultation appointment, and despite multiple unanswered calls and texts the morning of, he called as if there was no issue the next day and claimed I had the date wrong. So I took off work for the original appointment, and then had to leave early the next day. But, I decided sometimes things happen, so I'll still give him a chance. Now, I needed chimney work as a condition of my home insurance. It really wasn't in the budget for me, but I needed it done right away. DO NOT USE!! Jason was quick to come out to give me an estimate ,quick to collect his check but was a ghost when his repairs failed after the first use. I was told my Firefox needed to be replaced.Jason came in and said it just needed repairs to it which consisted of throwing fire proof cement over it. After using it the first time it all bubbled up and Jason was Is unreachable. After I did reach him he told me he would come out and put a fire deflector in the following tuesday and was a no show no call unable to reach. This company is a scam and the work is very shady. DO NOT USE!!!! I wasted 1500.00 using this company.

Last year, my wife and I bought a house and were pretty excited at the idea of burning wood in the fireplace. During our home inspection, however, it became evident that the top of the chimney needed some work. We decided to tackle the masonry related repairs this summer before the beginning of the wood burning season. We contacted Freedom Chimney, and the owner, Jay, responded promptly and set up an appointment quickly. After he showed me pictures of the condition of the top of the chimney, he worked up a quote that included a detailed description of the work to be performed. He removed the remnants of the old concrete, cleaned it up, resurfaced it, capped /sealed it, added new chimney flu caps, and cleaned the interior of the whole chimney. Had a chimney cap replaced 12 months ago by this company and recently started to have water dripping into the fireplace during rain storms. Attempted the contact this company to have them come out and look into it. Got an initial response saying they would get back to me about scheduling service. Did not hear back and attempted to contact them multiple times but not getting a response now. Ended up contacting another local company and they were able to resolve.

This is by far the worst “company” I have ever dealt with. Jason gave me an estimate to redo my crown and repoint the front, side and back of my chimney from the roof line up. They were in and out in 1 hour start to finish. They slapped mortar up the back side only, which is not what we agreed on. Then they missed multiple spots on the crown. The chimney looks worst than it did before they got here. They whole point was to clean it up from what the last homeowner did which is caulk it. When I called the owner (Jason) to complain, he hung up on me, then called me right back and asked if I was done. He couldn’t understand why I was so upset…… Do your homework people, this was a costly mistake, now I have to get the chimney redone and hire lawyer for the cost of that repair. this company is
