Gainesville Animal Control

Called about a stray Dog that I’ve seen around my house ,I guess he was abandoned. The dog looks like it’s starving and I honestly can’t take a dog in right now because I already have one. They said they can’t come pick him up because it’s outside of the county which is ridiculous because it’s still Gainesville. It seems like they don’t care about animals. Please do better!!!!

I have called animal control four times now about my neighbors dogs that run the neighborhood huge dogs in fact barking & peeing on my lawn furniture. The animal control officer comes out and does nothing but wait for the people that owns the dogs to come home and put them in the house. She does nothing. I grew up in Dallas. In Dallas, there is a fine if your dogs are caught off of a leash or out just running the neighborhoods. I am a nurse, and first rate I have seen a Beautiful, blue eyed little girls face mauled. She will never be the same. When I talked to the animal control woman, she says the animals are friendly. I’m talking huge German, shepherds, and Labrador retrievers. My grandchildren are terrified of them, Something needs to be done.

I greatly appreciate being harassed in my yard for my dog not having a leash on inside of my truck. What an absolute joke of a “public servant.” It’s a shame there’s such miserable people that they would like to tear you down cause they are having a bad day.

Would NOT help a mother who had 2 toddlers whose dog got off the leash and got struck by a car. Dog was alive, lying on the side of the road and he was not concerned. He put the unresponsive dog in her suv with her children and had her transport it to the vet 5 mins way! Really? Hope it happens to you and your family one day. You did a great job traumatizing a family.

Definitely need someone new in charge of animal control. Gainesville can do better than this.
