Geppetto's Antique Restoration

Geppetto's is hands-down the best furniture restoration business in the Bay. I've taken a few family heirloom pieces to them over the years, and am always very pleased with the quality of work and care that is taken with my antique furniture. Most recently I took my grandmother's secretary desk to them to be repaired and refinished. A drawer knob had broken off and been lost over the years, and they were able to replace it with a new knob that perfectly matched the others. Then they refinished the whole piece, and it turned out absolutely stunning. The result is incredible! I have used Geppetto's for fifteen years. Bernice is a true craftsman. She has refinished and repaired a variety of fine furniture for me, and the results are consistently excellent. Her prices are reasonable and she is professional and likeable as well as skilled.

Simply put, Bernice knows her stuff. I recently bought her my large leather couch and love seat. She knew right away which product to use and she explained the process. She had them ready for me in no time. I was beyond happy!! The leather looked brand new. A far cry from the old dried up leather I'd left her with. I mean, Wow !! Can't say enough about Bernice and Gepetto's. .

I needed some cane bottom chairs repaired. When I arrived at Geppetto’s in cute and historic Pt. Richmond and stepped through that red door it was like stepping back in time to a place where specialized hand tools are passed down from one generation to the next (turns out that is true)! Service is personal, which is important because old furniture has sentimental value. Bernice Rapaport, Owner, has had a storefront in this community for 25+ years. Her Apprentice, Max Rapaport, and Able Assistant, Liz Ginsberg are reliable and professional. They delivered my furniture to me all the way up in Northern Sonoma County. My chairs look great!

Custom tabletop not what I ordered or expected. I asked a lot of questions, asked for a lot of customization. Requested I receive photos throughout the build...received some at the very start that looked wrong. Was assured everything would be right. Wasn't even notified that it had shipped -- found out from the carrier that was trying to deliver after-hours. Opened package to inspect and it wreaked of wet paint...almost toxic. It was clear that the seller rushed the job to deliver the product and hope to get away with it. Miserable experience that now I have to deal with. Oh, and I have to go buy a top elsewhere after wasting almost three weeks waiting for this piece of junk.
