Gibson Cellar Door and Window

We hired Gibson to replace a cellar door and paint the hatchway. The work seemed haphazard—the painting was done carelessly, the door was not plumb, the foam was not trimmed. I called with concerns and he came out briefly but didn’t fix the problems—said he would be back “because he wanted me to be happy.” I never heard from him again. Edit: I am editing to clarify based on the owners response, which is deceptive. These photos are the finished product. The foam was never trimmed, that was how the job was left. I never heard from him again, even after he said would reach out after this review. The paint is not corrected and door trim was not put on. I guess when I said, “Sure, any time!” regarding him coming back to finish the job, he interpreted it as a brush off. Or maybe this is just not

I had Gibson cellar door & window install a new cellar door for me today. I am very happy with the detail given in completing the job. The installers were very professional. I selected a custom paint color that matched the house at no extra charge. All others wanted to charge extra. Job well done. Dave S

A few months ago, Gibson cellar door installed two basement windows and a replacement Bilco door at my property. I patiently waited many months for the windows to arrive, but I was so excited about this project, I really didn't mind the wait. My primary consideration in replacing my metal basement windows was that they were 35 years old and unattractive. This project was all about improving the aesthetic quality of my property. So you can understand why, when the work was finally done, that I was so upset by how sloppy the finished product looks. As you can see in the photos I've attached of the two new windows, the caulking was done without any consideration to neatness and the final look. I had my cellar hatchway replaced by Dennis and his team and they were exceptional. The door fit perfectly in place and does not leak. There were a few scratches on the door and Dennis sent his team back a few days later to repaint the entire door. Dennis took the time to talk with me as a person and not just try to make a sale. He is a genuinely nice person. Great job, great price, great experience overall.

From quote to finished product, everything went perfectly. Dennis and his crew were efficient, affordable, and did an absolutely beautiful job!!!
