Glidden Excavating And Paving

This morning in Auburn, while merging onto the turnpike, I had a very concerning encounter with one of Glidden Excavating and Paving’s pickup trucks. Although the left lane was completely clear, the driver chose not to move over and instead maintained position, leaving me with no safe option to merge. As a result, I was forced to slow down abruptly, nearly coming to a complete stop, to avoid being pushed into the guardrail. This incident reflects extremely unsafe and discourteous driving. I hope the company takes this matter seriously and addresses the behavior of its drivers to prevent a potentially dangerous accident in the future.

Im not sure how many employees work for this company so I'll say the crew that was working on Walnut Street in Lewiston, August 2020, so it can be narrowed down, needs to seriously work on their customer service skills. I understand its hard labor work and not really dealing with people that often but I would highly recommend the people in charge taking the time do a class or something to teach the employees how to deal with the public. Someone in a vehicle might have a question or a homeowner nearby might have a question and they should really know how to deal with people respectfully. Its just not a good look for the company.

I’m not sure about the quality of the companies work but I will share this. I was driving South on I-95 behind on your trucks and not only were they swerving, tailgating and driving WAYYY to fast but they also had unsecured items in the back of the truck. 1 large shovel and a bunch of trash came flying out and would have wrecked our car if it wasn’t for my partner swerving to miss it. We tried to catch up to the guy driving to inform him but he clearly had saw what had happened and decided to drive even faster to get away. We finally caught up to him and i snapped a picture of him texting on the phone and of his license plate (2B-4690). Do with that information what you will, but i think that it speaks to the companies core values. Very reckless, dangerous, and inconsiderate.
