I recently purchased a Sunsetter Awning from Golden Hammer Home Improvements. The Awning is excellent in my backyard thanks to Golden Hammer installing my awning they were very professional and organized. Thanks to them I can sit in my yard and enjoy outside without the sun on my head. I would highly recommend Golden Hammer from the time of my purchase to the installation it was flawless. Great Job.

Ordered a Sun Setter Awning from Jim at Golden Hammer, New Hyde Park, over 8 weeks ago with the promise that it would go up within 3-4 weeks. Gave him a 50% deposit in good faith. Finally got a call back last week after multiple attempts over the past 3 weeks to schedule an install. The install was scheduled for today and noone showed up, nor did anyone call. I called early in the afternoon and got an answering machine. Finally got a call back tonight from Jim, and he didn't know what it was about, and worse yet wouldn't give me a new date. Should have read the reviews, but I failed to do so because I got him through an online inquiry with Sun Setter awnings, and I assumed that given their national presence they would have a vetting process in place, but it doesn't look that way...I will b

Jim is excellent. He installed a beautiful 20 foot motorized XL Sunsetter awning for me last year. Unfortunately, it was damaged by the winds and Jim came right away to take a look at it for me and two replacement arms were ordered free of cost. Excellent customer service. Would definitely recommend.

Golden Hammer installed a Sunsetter Awning at my home in June. When we discussed the price, they told me that they were including a wind sensor for free. I did not notice the wind sensor was missing until a few hours after installation. I called immediately and was told that it was not on my invoice. That is true. I did not think to check the invoice for this because I assumed that they would honor their word. After a few calls I was told that they would install it for free. That was June. It's obvious that they are not coming back. If you hire this company, be sure that every detail is on the invoice, even if they tell you it is included.

I have an older awning and the replacement fabric for it. The company I purchased it from no longer makes this model. I called multiple awning companies over the years to replacement the fabric. No one wanted to take this on. Finally I called Golden Hammer who's guys could not be more professional or adapt at tackling the job. There were a few twists as this is an older model and they had no problem correcting it. The awning now looks like the first day it was installed. Highly recommend !
