This past summer Hancock Chimney inspected my fireplace and chimney. They found it needed repair which they completed in a professional manner. I just had them replace my old gas fire burner and logs with a new set. I am very happy with all the work they have done for me including the new cement top to my chimney that they replaced. DO NOT hire this company for an inspection. Jason Rose came to our house and completed an inspection. He did not want to speak to my wife and only wanted to speak to me to find our attic. He said one of our fireplaces which was gas, that he could not get it to light. After we had another company come out, he was able to light it within minutes. They just take measurements and photos and put it into a software to create a report and do not provide practical solutions to get the fireplace working. Edit based on owners' response: That was not the case, to quote the inspector. "I cannot get the fireplace to light; there must be a shut off valve somewhere I cannot access." This was a great company to work with. We had weather delays and they communicated directly with our plumber to coordinate our services. We would 100% use them again in the future.

When I booked this appointment I was told there would be a thorough inspection including the chimney. I explained that I thought the seals on the door might need to be replaced to our gas fireplace. 2 guys came out for the appt. and told my wife we don’t inspect your chimney, nor did they inspect the seals on the door. They just charged us $279.00 to lite the pilot light and left.
