Handy Services, INC

Short version: Had to cancel due to start date getting continually pushed back, and now cannot get my deposit back. Long version: I had Drew come out at the end of September 2023 to assess water damage in my house from water leaking in from outside, likely from combination of improperly installed siding and gutter. We came to an agreement on scope of project and cost, and I gave him a deposit in early October with expectation of work starting by end of the month. He kept pushing the start date back, until the very end of December when I decided to go with someone else who was able to start in January. I also had lost confidence in him at this point based on poor communication and it always seeming like my project was just about to start only for more excuses as to why it would be delayed.

I contacted handy services through the thumbtack. He was very quick to respond and seemed very knowledgeable. He assessed my job quickly and knew exactly what needed to be done. The original job was removal of carpet and tile throughout house and paint in all but bathrooms and 3 spare bedrooms. I had further jobs I wanted him to do at the house and he gave me reasonable pricing from what I thought. Now as the work began it all seemed going well. Demo was very quick and then the work seemed to taper down in speed. They did have to wait for a few days for the flooring because I was at fault in ordering but they could have painted a bit sooner. The repair work on nail holes wasn’t that impressive. The paint job wasn’t impressive either. I could see light and dark lines due to poor work. I bro

Handy Services, Inc. recently remodeled an addition to the office I work at. The building is old and needed some TLC. Handy Services, Inc. was not only reasonably priced but Drew and his team worked quickly and efficiently. There were a few add-on's we threw at Drew yet everyone worked hard to get the job done in our original timeline. We are very pleased with the work that Handy Services, Inc. provided and very much look forward to using our new office space!

Handy services rushes to compete jobs. Had painting throughout home on walls and pergo flooring done as well. He left materials in garage even though he said they had to be brought inside to get accustomed to the humidity. When removing much of the trim work to paint, they broke many pieces and charged me to replace them. He stained them and they came out completely different in color. If I hadn’t had said anything, he would have let it go. The paint was sub par, you could see many of the roller marks. The transitions put in place on the floor are horrible. Straight cuts without evening trying to blend it in. The front door was left bare where bottom meets floor. He put caulking down to “fix” it. That is not how you properly fix it. He left some spots on the floor uneven and my floor sinks

Had an emergency with our water heater. Water was pouring out and I was worried about it flooding the basement or maybe worse. I called Handy Services and he told me to message a picture of the water heater. He immediately got back to me and helped me to figure out how to shut it off until I can get someone to come out and replace it! Thank you Handy Services for being so quick and helpful!
