Harrisburg Gardens Inc. -Landscape Supply Store and Gardens Center -Topsoil-Mulch-Stone

Unimpressed. Needed 8-10 scoops of topsoil. They had a fair price and delivery was relatively cheap @ $30. Staff is friendly and prompt service. Delivery was quick n easy and driver helped me situate tarp for dirt to sit on top of. The SOIL QUALITY IS TERRIBLE. Screened topsoil was half rock half who knows. I've dug a lot of dirt and never seen anything like this in any PA field or otherwise. I say that cuz they told me it mainly comes from fields in PA, like when a housing complex is being built. So essentially, they're just taking away scrap material from job sites and selling it for top dollar. Looked ok at first look. But the more i shoveled it and handled it, it was obvious that the quality is meh. I was told the standard for screened topsoil is anything below 3/8" is k

I was referred to Harrisburg Garden by a landscaper who praised their topsoil as high-quality and finely screened. I paid for delivery without seeing it in person, expecting top-tier soil. What I received was extremely disappointing—crushed brick, brick dust, mulch, and low-grade fill dirt. After a week of rain, the mix separated and exposed how poor the quality really was. I have photos from the time it was dumped to after it was laid down. I contacted the business to express concern, and their only reply was: "We sell screened, unscreened, and compost. This looks like screened. It’s the same soil as in your yard. We just take the rock above 3/8" out of it." That explanation completely missed the point. Crushed brick and mulch hold excess heat and reduce seed-to-soil contact—terrible

I've been landscaping for about 8 years Now and I've gotta tell you I've never seen such Beautiful Mulch! All of our customers want to know who our supplier is and to tell us they love it. Looks like velvet. Best product I can recommend to anybody.

quick and easy to order...but dropped the rocks off in the only place I told them not to drop it off at, added more work and a big inconvenience... I would have preferred a phone call if they couldnt drop it off where I asked, instead of covering my driveway
