For over 20 years I’ve been a property manager of a 36-unit townhome community, built over 50 years ago. During this time, I’ve engaged numerous contractors to perform various types of work throughout the community. This is the first time I’ve been compelled to write a review. Over the past two years I’ve had two significant projects where I’ve engaging the folks at Harvey W. Hottle, Inc. The first project was to replace all 36 units interior main water shut off valve with new pressure reducers and two ball valves. These 36 units were completed in just over 32 hours. When WSSC turn our water back on not one unit had a leak. (Very impressive to say the least.) Before they began the project, they inspected each unit and scaled the appropriate manpower to complete the project

I would never hire again...ever. I contracted them to service my residential AC. When they first came out they did not have all the parts. Next time they fixed it, supposedly. Three weeks later water leaked everywhere, including my downstairs neighbor's apartment. They fixed it, but it was a headache to deal with. Throughout this whole thing I have been getting notices saying that I have an outstanding balance of $500 due. I haven't paid it because I talked to them on the phone and gave them my credit card number to pay for it soon after the service. Now, I received a letter stating that they will be turning it over to the attorney. I called my card company and they mention that the card was never charged. I could possibly have lowered my credit score simply because the lady forgot to run

I used Hottel to replace the washers and a handle in my shower at my home in Georgetown DC. The handles were 75 years old. I was concerned that the parts may not be available or they would need to order them. No problem. they had the parts. The technician arrived on time did a great job and was very professional. Thx!

This is our go-to HVAC company when we have a problem that no one else can solve. They really are the best HVAC company in the region.

I filed a complaint regarding a HVAC service call with Harvey W. Hottel Inc. late December 2015. After 3 attempts to obtain a response from the company I contacted Montgomery County’s Consumer Protection Agency. Hottel did at last respond through the agency. However, • They provided no explanation for their prior lack of response. • They provided no explanation for their staff’s lack of training in the diagnostics provided by the ‘communicating’ systems they install. Hottel installed my HVAC and maintained it for 7 years. As a result of this experience I have not renewed my contract and no longer provide a good reference for their services.
