Hatchett Design Remodel

Hatchett recently completed our kitchen remodel, and we could not be more pleased. From our very first meeting through the final walkthrough, every member of the Hatchett team was professional, attentive and committed to delivering exactly what we envisioned. During the design phase, they listened closely to our ideas and preferences, offering thoughtful suggestions that truly elevated the final plan. As with any remodel a few changes came up along the way, and Hatchett handled each one seamlessly. Hatchett provided a clear construction schedule and impressively stayed on track, finishing the project ahead of the deadline. Throughout the build, our project manager kept us informed every step. He — and the employees and tradespeople — were respectful of our home and a pleasure to work with

Hatchett just completed a huge kitchen remodel for us combining our dining room with our kitchen. To me the hardest part was narrowing down the budget and the design!! Once that was finalized, our Project Manager, Kent, was AMAZING!!! Always kept us informed, always available to answer questions. When we did have trades in, he always inspected their work to make sure it was up to our standards and Hatchett’s. Under Kent’s leadership the construction team was wonderful, showed up when promised and always respectful to our space and kept things clean and tidy. The finished project exceeded our expectations!! Thank you!!

It was an absolute pleasure working with the folks from Hatchett Design Remodel and the subcontractors that did the electrical, plumbing, drywall, tiling, flooring, glass shower enclosure, painting, carpentry and cabinet/sink work. Tommy, the Hatchett foreman, did an excellent job of scheduling the work so there was no overlap and did an excellent job when it came to his portion of the work. We have recommended Hatchett Design Remodel to our neighbors and are planning on using a Hatchett recommended window subcontractor to replace all of the windows in our home. Hatchett did a FANTASTIC job on our kitchen. It turned out just like we had envisioned. The team was a joy to work with, and made sure that everything was done to our VERY exacting standards!

Seems like they'll hold your hand - but you'll pay dearly for it. I asked Hatchett and two other contractors for a Class 4/5 rough order estimate on a whole-house remodel (garage/front façade work, attic finish, kitchen/baths). What I received was a text message with a broad ballpark— no written scope, no line items, no allowances, no GC breakdown. What they didn’t know is that I’d already built a Class 2–3 estimate using current Hampton Roads pricing from a recent project. Comparing their ballpark to that workup, the math implied roughly $600k–$900k in OH & profit for them — far outside a reasonable range. The total cost was over twice the next highest bidder.
