I was having my pressure switch demanding flow constantly. I have been here 31 years and never did anything with my well. Hayes & Sims diagnosed that my pump was beginning to fail and recommended it be replaced. They showed up, pulled my pump, down 120 feet, and found that it was 45 years old. The galvanized pipe to the pump was severely deteriorated and some sections were soft and bent when they uncoupled them. My pressure tank was tested at 15 psi when it should have been up around 45 psi. I had them replace everything. I learned so much about wells from talking with this group. Marc and his guys went above and beyond to take care of us! Our pump went out Saturday night on our 120 year old well and we had no water. To top it off I was having a colonoscopy on Tuesday with the very fun prep on Monday. Marc brought out a 300 gallon tank Sunday morning so I would have desperately needed water. We decided to forget a well and hook up to Illinois American Water.....which ended up taking 2 months after making different decisions. So the tank was left with us no charge for as long as we needed it. I know they are very busy, and being self-employed myself, I know how it is when work gets stacked up. Happy customer. Called about 3:30pm for non-emergency service. They were able to come around 10am the next morning and immediately diagnosed the problem as a failed pressure tank (which had also sprung a leak in addition to its other issues). They had a suitable replacement in stock nearby and despite the tank being in a rather difficult to get to place in a crawlspace, had it and associated components replaced in a couple of hours and we were back in business. Good communication, prompt friendly service.

When our current well was not producing water properly last summer we called Hayes & Sims since they had given us very good service in the past. We were not aware that Marc Vaughn had purchased the Hayes & Sims name recently. After only checking the power supply to our pump and pressure tank and without checking out any other possible causes of our problem, Vaughn suggested a new well be drilled. He recommended a first driller who ended up not being able to not find water 10 feet from the original well. Vaughn then recommended a second driller to attempt a different kind of well. When the second driller found water he STRONGLY suggested Vaughn clean the original well first before we finished the third well and spent thousands more than we needed to. used this company due to reviews on line. THIS IS NOT the original Sims, it was sold and new owners are clowns. Had a well inspection for home purchase. They arrived late, as I asked questions was told it would be in report. Several calls and three weeks later and 3 days before closing I get report which is a statement of bill for service. With out water weeks later and called but they are on vacation. Called a different company who will be drilling new well tomorrow due to motor needing replaced and pipe corroded.
