Heartwood Gates

My front yard gate and fence took a beating during the last storm. I had family coming into town and wanted a clean and refreshed look before their arrival. Jonathon and his team worked closely with me to get all the details I wanted and created me the perfect gate while staying at my budget. The process was smooth, fast and efficient. My family arrived to a beautiful new gate! Will use again.

Jonathan and his team at Heartwood Gates (aka Fence & Gate Crafters) have created several unique and attractive items our outdoor spaces. We keep coming back with new ideas, and Jonathan has always been willing to design a new challenge. At this point we have 2 fence panels, 2 gates, 3 raised planters, a gazebo, a pagoda (that acts as the pump house for the pond), and a greenhouse. With routine maintenance - reapplying Penofin stain and adjusting hinges/latches - everything has remained functional. We constantly get comments and questions about "who created that?"

Just a few months after install and the start of rainy season, my gate wouldn't close. Jonathan came out three times to "repair" it and the gate still isn't closing. The repairs look absolutely horrible. What once was a beautiful gate with character is now gone. We had this gate made to block off access to our pool from our two young children. Now we have to keep it closed with an unsightly moving strap. After multiple attempts to get in contact with Jonathan he won't return calls or texts. This is extremely disappointing and unfortunate that Jonathan won't stand by his work and try to make it right. I do not recommend Heartwood Gates.

I placed an order for a gate for my driveway as I have two young kids and pets and needed one up as soon as possible. It was so easy to order and the gate arrived faster than estimated and it’s absolutely beautiful. Thank you heartwood gates for the convenience and quality!

John the owner was great to work with made my family and I a beautiful custom Hardwood gate . the neighborhood absolutely loves it ,as we get compliments all the time . shipped it up to South Lake Tahoe from the Concord area I believe ..all in all great service thank you to you and your team again.
