Rubbish product and customer service to boot. My local plumbing supply Weinstein sold me a $2000 Heat-Flo 80 gallon electric water heater. Almost immediately it began having leaks around the heating elements. I would later come to learn that it was also sporadically flooding my basement, but it was hard to diagnose at first because it was coming from the overflow pipe and not the base of machine. First the plumber came and tried to just change the lower burned out heating element rather than do a whole warranty replacement. That didn’t work so I called Heat Flo who said there was nothing they could do and had to file warranty through my supply house, who in the few months since installing it stopped carrying Heat-Flo products (wonder why). My first heat-flo water tank was defective upon installation. My second water tank was defective within 18 months. The defect is on Heat-flo’s end (a leak at the weld site) and this was confirmed by a licensed plumber. Heat-flo won’t stand by their “lifetime warranty” 18 months in to their product failing, and are blaming the leak on town water. I have sent them graphs and contact information for my town’s water supplier. There was a period when they wouldn’t respond to me for months until I emailed them that I would forward my concerns on to the BBB. I was then informed that I could send the tank back for inspection. When I asked why this wasn’t offered the day I told them that a plumber confirmed the leak was from a manufacturing defect, I was told that they deny about 99% of the cl

Pretty crappy when a company can’t even respond to your inquiries. Called and left a voicemail. No response. Called in again and Spoke to the lady. She said she would have somebody call me back. Never did. I’d rather deal with a company that’s gonna be there for me in the long run.

Heat flo has incredibly reliable All-American made stainless steel water heaters. The in-house quality inspection is above the industry standard for sure. Highly recommended.

HeatFlo. Warranty of 5 years. Started to leak internally in 6 years, just outside the warranty period. Thumbs down on quality. Make sure your plumber chooses wisely.
