Heating & Air Conditioning

I bought a furnace from them in 2009 with a 10 year warranty. I never had an issue with them, they were always nice, efficient and respectable in my home while servicing my furnace. That changed a month ago when I was having some issues with the blower. They reluctantly came and replaced the part; gave me attitude when I called before Christmas because furnace was still acting up and never came back. I called them yesterday when it was historically low temp for Chicago because furnace was running constantly and shutting off for 45 seconds and going right back on. I called to just simply ask if this is normal for a furnace to do; when I told Tom who was calling his tone of voice changed. I have used Maher Heating & Air Conditioning for more than 30 years. Tom and Anthony give excellent service and can be counted on to respond promptly at any time of the day or night. They will give an honest assessment of your heating and air conditioning systems and not overcharge for any repairs. They are both very nice people and can be trusted in your home.

Unfortunately we have had an unpleasant experience. Mr. Maher installed a valve in the condo above my 94 year old mother's flat. It leaked for 3 days into the ceiling and carpet. Caused $10,000 damage. I called him multiple times to simply recover my mother's $500 deductible and each time he had a different excuse about being out of town or in the hospital.He ended up hanging up on me twice. Still no payment 3 months later. AAA & State Farm are pursuing him legally for damages.
