Hillcrest Public Parking

TLDR: We were basically held hostage here for about 5 minutes. They had our ticket and wouldn’t let us leave for disputing EV parking fee and parking fee for garage. DO NOT PARK HERE. It’s a scam and kinda scary to deal with the parking attendants. An hour here almost cost us $15. The EV charging stations charge for parking and we asked why we had to pay additional parking fees to leave. The employee in the booth refused to look at our receipt and we asked him to call his manager. The manager came over and took our ticket and demanded to know what time we came in. We looked up the Sema Connect receipt. We had been there an hour. He said the charges for the parking on the EV chargers hadn’t processed yet so we had to pay for parking?! When it works, it’s fine but when it doesn’t, it’s horrible. Like all the other reviews, they will rob you. The validation at sushi roll land wasn’t working so the server told me to just show my receipt and the parking ticket and the attendant should be able to let me thru freely. You would think that it’s easy. Both receipt and parking ticket had a time stamp. But nooo… had to wait like at least 15 min for customer service and when the attendant came. He was sooo RUDE. He was like I’m just security and all I can do is watch you pay. It’s only $7. I’m not going back and forth on this with you. Make sure to read the fine print and ignore logic when using these facilities. They advertise a 24-hour parking flat rate fee of 24 dollars, however, as soon as it turns midnight, they add an additional day. So unless you come at midnight and stay until 11:59pm you will never take advantage of a full 24 hours. Ridiculous.

Convenient location that puts you into the heart of hillcrest. Never had difficulty finding available parking spots excluding atypical events. Usually sparkly clean for a parking structure and walking is of ease with stairs leading to the street. Price is fair for what you get.

Charges $35 per day but if you lose your voucher they rob you and charge you $70. The audacity of this parking garage is absurd.
