Hills Van Service of Marion County

Beware. This company destroyed my belongings. No one responds about claims I filed. Sent numerous emails to them and the owner Mr. Hill who never had the courtesy to respond. I’ve had to hire a lawyer. They damaged my car, my clothes, my furniture. Items were in storage for 90 days. Mildew. Had to throw away my bed. Packers were a disaster. Wardrobe boxes had dirty outdoor cushions in bottom. Delivery even worse. They just piled things up in house. Broken pieces of furniture everywhere.No regard for where it should be placed. When I asked team leader to put dining table in dining area he said “I’m not an interior decorator.” They refused to help me move a carpet they have delivered a week prior. I’ve moved numerous times. Twice in last 4 years. Zero claims. Now they are denying all. DO NO

My move was across town - about 15 miles. I was given an estimate and signed on. A few weeks later, I received a new estimate, almost double the first. I complained. The owner came out and re-estimated the job. It was lower than the second but higher than the first. Move time was just around the corner, so I decided to go ahead. Move day came. Move went OK. Some minor damage. The largest single item was a folded Sleep Number mattress. I told the movers to NOT do that, but they did it anyway. When they laid it out on the box spring, you could tell one of the air bladders was really messed up. They tried to fix it but couldn't. I called Sleep Number for service. Fortunately, they were able to come out that day. They fixed it, but it cost me $250.00 for the service. This part

Could not be happier with all aspects of our cross country move. Hill's Van Service provided extremely courteous service from the initial call til the last box was delivered. Loading crew worked diligently, hand trucking our possessions down a dirt road to the main street and kept everything spotless. Delivery was quick, everything went well- very professional company. Highly recommend!

Can't say enough good things about my moving and storage process with Hills! It's always a stressful time and they just flat made it easier. All the employees that packed and loaded were respectful, caring and careful. JD and Mary Hall were a pleasure to meet and work with. I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone! My husband and I have moved cross country several times, and have used several national van lines. We've always had good experiences and in fact, have never felt the need to buy the full value replacement insurance. Since my husband's company was paying this time, we did buy insurance, and thank goodness! This was by far the worst move we've ever had. As anyone who's moved knows, it's the local agency and not which national van line you choose that matters. Hill's Mayflower failed to deliver on all counts. - the movers arrived late (this happens a lot, so NBD) - they sent 2 movers who were very green - one said this was his "first and last" move and another didn't know what a wardrobe was! - they took 10 hours (10:30 am to 8:30 pm) for a small 4 bedroom house and we had already sold abo
