HL Sims Custom Countertops

We were looking for a local company to install Wilson Art Thinscape counters in our kitchen as part of our remodel. We came across HL Sims. We liked they had been in business so long. We have an 11+' L-shaped counter and they were able to order a large slab and cut the counter from it to make it one piece. They also expanded the size of our cook island to accommodate a larger cooktop. We waited a while for the slab to arrive but installation went smoothly and we are very pleased with the finished counters.

I can't talk about installation experience, my wife and I did the installing. What I can talk about is, we did the measurements an made a template of the cabinet top. This was no ordinary top is was made like an octagon shape with a few modifications made by us. Scott was very patient with us and explained that since we did the measurements and made the template out of paper there was no guarantee it would fit. It was flawless, fit perfectly. The finish was amazing.

The laminate countertops I had custom made were incorrectly installed. After HL Sims installed the countertops, I needed to have work done on the cabinets. The cabinet repair person had no trouble lifting the countertops from the cabinets. Apparently, there were no corner blocks put on before HL Sims installed them. Three repairmen told me that corner blocks were required for a proper install: My cabinet repairman, an HL Sims repairman, and the repairman I hired to do the install that HL Sims refused to do properly. After several calls to the company and getting nowhere, I was told that the owner would call me. It's been two weeks and no call. HL Sims did a wonderful job with the planning and installation of our granite countertops and island in our kitchen and quartzite in our bathrooms. Our island is the prettiest feature of our new home!

HL came out back in 2020 to do my kitchen countertops and they did a fantastic job. I decided on doing a bathroom remodel recently and knew I HAD to choose them again for my bathroom counters.
