After reading the other very poor reviews I thought I had made a huge mistake by choosing Home Depot for my carpet install. Unfortunately, they offered a specific color that I fell in love with and I couldn't find anywhere else so was forced to gamble that Hom Solutions wouldn't provide me with a similarly negative experience. Well, thank goodness they came through for me and so I wanted to attempt to break the trend and provide some relief for future users of their service. We ordered carpet from Home Depot and this was the sub contractor used by them to install the carpet. We experienced excellent communication from the folks at Hom Solutions. Once they had our carpet, they were able to schedule to install date quickly. The installers (who were actually a sub contractor of Hom Solutions) did an outstanding job from the initial call to let me know they were on the way to going over the project to determine the best method to be used. We also received proper follow up to make sure we were satisfied with the install process. We had about 1000 sq. ft. of carpet installed including stairs and the two man crew completed the job in about 6 hours. I have been a loyal Home Depot customer for over 18 years and this is the first time that I’ve had a terrible experience and hope to warn others of the difficulties surrounding these installation third-party people who have nothing to do with Home Depot, other than some distant carpet installer company that has no intentions of staying in business..???… or furthering Home Depot‘s honorable reputation. The day of the appointment they showed up 2 1/2 hours late with only one big guy and one very small old person that informed me that moving furniture wasn’t part of what they do I asked them. Terrible experience from start to finish. A 2 day job for laminate flooring install turned into 16 days, and then I had to bring them back for warranty work because their caulking and finishing was amateur. After removing the old flooring on day one, the installer said he could not work anymore until I sanded all the subfloor. I asked if he could do it and he said no, then left after only working 2 hours that day. I had to go buy a belt sander and spend all night sanding the subfloor for my contractor! When he came back the next day he said I had the wrong flooring and he could not install it. I spent hours on the phone with their management confirming that I did indeed have the correct flooring.
