House of Hotrods

These are pictures of my 1955 Thunderbird after being in the House of Hot Rods shop for 3 years. They should tell you everything you need to know about the type of business they run. Ive been continuously lied to almost from the beginning of the build by 2 different managers. Ii had always heard good things about the shop and I have seen some beautiful cars that have come from there but ,as far as my experience goes, I would never recommend them for a major build. Please remember that the pictures are of the car as of today after it has been in their possession for 3 years.

I called House of Hotrods on the recommendation from a mechanic that is retiring. He recommended them as he is retiring and I needed someone competent to work on my 1969 Double COPO Camaro Berger Tribute. I spec'd this car out, had it custom built and bought most of the parts direct from two sources that provide high quality parts that are either NOS or OEM quality. I furnished over $60,000 in parts. So with the background, back to House of Hotrods. I called to see about having the heater box and all contents replaced. I have all the correct parts, not cheap, bought from the two sources above in the last year. This includes a brass and copper heater core and all gaskets and new mounting clips and rubber. I spoke with Beth, who explained they will do NO WORK with customer furnished parts. T

several years ago I got a quote from them to replace the weatherstrip that runs between the front and back window, they quoted me a price of $400 because they said the window had to come out. This morning I grabbed the weather strip with a pair of pliers, tapped downward on the pliers with a hammer, and the strip slid out. The new strip cost $36 for the pair. I lived with the problem for years because they made it sound like a hard job. They do good work, but they WILL quote you the most expensive option
