I hired him to rewire for and install two outdoor wall sconces around my front door. He originally quoted me $775 to $830 depending on the work required for the rewiring. While he was there, I asked him if he could change out a nonfunctional exterior outlet and install wiring to support a VIDEO doorbell as we had never actually had any doorbell. There was old doorbell wiring there and a transformer already. He quoted me $200 to rewire for a circuit that would support a video doorbell. He told me my doorbell transformer was fine and that he just needed to run new wiring because the old wiring was no longer any good. Hufnagel is pretty much the gold standard for Pittsburgh trades. He is beyond responsive, up-front with his services and prices, and borderline embarrassingly accommodating with his availability. In our case, Jason helped us with replacing some ancient fixtures in my parents' old house and was the only guy to both work with - rather than try to work around - the ancient K&T. Probably relatedly, he was the only guy with up front pricing, which was a huge relief because of how hard it is to schedule both the estimate and job.

Hufnagel just installed our new hallway pendant in our townhouse. This area has 18ft ceilings and we were very nervous to try and attempt this ourselves. The guys completed the install in a little over an hour and did a fantastic job! I would recommend them to anyone with complex lighting installation needs!

Jason and his son did a fabulous job snaking a wire through my wall to hardwire a fireplace gas log set. They were timely and efficient. I highly recommend them and will definitely use in the future. Overall, they communicated well and answered my questions. Thanks guys for a great job. anne r.
