Buyer Beware – HVAC SCAM! I hired Sidney Biscola of HVAC Specialists for air duct cleaning after finding him on Angie’s List. He offered a “comprehensive package” (10 vents, dryer vent, coil cleaning) for $255. He later convinced me to buy a UV light for $375, saying mine wasn’t good enough. Then he upsold my elderly mother the same light, claiming dangerous mold. Later, her A/C broke, and I paid $890 for repairs he said were needed. Shortly after, my own A/C failed; Sidney tried to pressure me into replacing my entire outside unit for $5,000, claiming the compressor was leaking Freon.
