He did an outstanding job so that it is impossible to see the tear - the painting looks unblemished to my eye. I contacted Seth Irwin about a 1920s print that needed conservation. It was black ink on what had once been white paper that was now badly browned. There was mat burn, and a large area of old water damage at the bottom and old masking tape along the back of the top edge—formerly repairing that edge, now causing damage itself. From start to finish Seth was completely professional and well organized, including handling my initial contact, setting up a meeting, reviewing alternate approaches to the work, scheduling, condition reporting and progress updates. And the final piece looks wonderful, ready for framing and display.
