J. D. Fedele Construction Demolition, Inc.

As an immediate neighbor of the 2400 E Huntingdon site Fedele is demolishing, I am very concerned about the practices of this company. Their work is currently halted by the city due to unsafe demolition practices and expired permits. Neighbors have had to repeatedly call in complaints related to lack of dust suppression, debris being knocked into open roadways, and burst pipes causing flooding into the neighborhood. I am also concerned about the safety of Fedele's employees, who I have never seen wearing masks at the site, despite COVID regulations requiring them. Even before COVID, masks would prevent dangerous airborne particles released by demolition from being inhaled. I fear these practices reflect a reckless disregard for the safety of employees and the community.

This company illegally commenced demolition (permit expired in early March, but took place last week of March), and did so unsafely, at 2400 E Huntingdon St and it was all caught on Twitter and reported about in the Inquirer. This firm has been fined $2000 for their malfeasance.

These guys work hard and do a great job! I would recommend them to anyone!
