First, he said the parts to do the repair were no longer available and the whole motor needed to be replaced. Second, quoted "$750-1200" -- $750 for a conventional 3/4 hp garage opener and $1200 for a smart Wifi-enabled garage open. Third, he seemed to indicate that he didn't have the parts to do the work but then kept lowering the price to do the work "since he was already out there." We had another competitor (Robert's) come out to give a quote and they were able to do the repair for $240 without needing to replace the garage opener and also quoted to replace it with a Wifi-enabled garage opener for $650.
