La Placita Garage

I have had issues parking in this garage in the past, however, new technology has been installed by Metropolis and my experience was great! You simply drive in (gate vends, so there is no backup at the entrance) and you park. Simply scan the QR signage by your parking spot (enter your license plate number and payment information one time) and you can enter/exit the garage without ever having to pull a ticket or do anything! I will definitely utilize this garage in the future for events and thankful that the parking experience has been elevated.

This should be a NEGATIVE 5 star review. Yes, the have new parking technology, but the garage is still a dark dump, and now there is never an attendant on-site so when the app charges you a ridiculous and INCORRECT amount, you are screwed and forced to pay. BEWARE, after 5pm they claim it's a flat $20 event rate, plus $1 service charge. This rate is not posted anywhere and you only get the surprise when they are extorting you on the way out. DO NOT PARK HERE! Let the garage be torn down and turned into apartments!

JUNE 2024 DO NOT PARK HERE. did they figure out the problems like the machines failing? Nope. All these reviews highlight problems still happening and known for FIVE YEARS. We waited 45 min to exit from the 1st floor after a small event downtown. They got one guy to deal with hundreds of angry people trying to leave. And they get away with it because no one checks reviews on a parking garage. But if you reading this and planning something this is your warning.

ALL the lights on the main floor have been out for 2 weeks!! No guard or booth attendant present. Very unsafe!! The ticket machine and ticket reader, and the exit arm, also stop working frequently.

Came for a graduation at the TCC have been here 2 hours and we are still on the top floor waiting for the lower floors to clear out. It has one exit and takes way to long. Absolutely avoid at all costs. Edit: Still one star but they opened both the entrance and exit and we didn't have to pay to park. Still took them 3 hours to do so.
