We had an initial home build discussion with Charles (the sales/marketing rep) in their office. We started the discussion telling him we have our own land with well/power/septic already. We spent some months looking at plans, so we brought notes along with our land plot and a home plan that we liked. It was a 3,000 sf plan plus basement. We handed the home plan to him and started talking about it. His first comment was something to the effect that it was a big last home. He glanced at the plan, turned it over and started talking about their plans. We mentioned that we had seen their plans (I personally didn’t see a plan that I liked), maybe there was something that could be modified to fit us. I contacted Pete Lancaster about an issue with my recently-purchased Lancaster home. I’d been cooking in the kitchen when one of the two large chandeliers over the kitchen island came crashing down from the ceiling. The culprit: cheap, plastic electrical boxes were used for the heavy chandeliers, and their electrician had over-tightened the screws, which in-turn had broken the plastic tabs retaining the fixture. I first reached out via email, but was ignored, and finally reached Pete, who confirmed he received the email but there was “nothing he could do about it”. I explained the situation, and Pete stated that since the house was built back in 2015, he had no way of knowing if the chandeliers were original.
