LAZ Parking - Metropolitan Museum of Art

Great to order ahead but don't dare go in 10 min or more before your time becaue it won't let you in. And they will not help you at all! Otherwise it's easy to find once you look at pictures and it was a reasonable rate for most of the day. Back entrance to the MET is right there with a coat check nearby.

This is for the parking, not the museum... Fair price for the area, and it's super convenient to the Met as well as mid Central Park. Got there at 10am on Thursday, and had plenty of spaces. On 5th Ave, right past 81st Street. "Left" of the Met's front steps.

I used Spothero to book a reservation about a week in advance. My reservation was from 9 a.m. on Saturday until 9 a.m. on Sunday in July. I was driving my chevy traverse, so know this is a BIG suv. The good news, my total cost was $30.71. There were plenty of parking spots that were plenty big enough for my suv. There was no upcharge of any kind. There are doors to The Met that you will see when you pull into the garage. The line to the museum was around the block at the main entrance, and no line in garage entrance. The the sort of bad news. Spothero gives you directions on how to use your voucher/barcade. First, there is no valet. So you will save money on tips. There are guards, though, that check your trunk. For what, I don't know. Pros: 1. Guards check your trunk. Makes you feel safer. 2. Easy pay, they have machine at the exit for you to pay conveniently, or you could do it in person. 3. Spacious and clean Cons: 1. Very expensive. $50 for a bit over 3hrs. 2. A bit dark

If you use the garage, don't buy a timed entry ticket in advance because if you are early it won't let you on and you will need to use your credit card to enter. You will them need to contact LAZ afterwards to request a refund. They are very good about refunds when you contact them.
