LAZ Parking

We parked here at 12:30pm for the Somerville St. Patrick's Day parade. The entrance gate was up when we arrived and a worker was there telling cars that "it's free today." Numerous cars including us went right in and parked. When we left at 3:45pm, there was a long line of cars as the gate was now down and a new worker was there, not allowing cars to leave. Instead, he appeared to argue with every car for several minutes each, which held up the line and had many people honking their horns. When it was our turn to exit, this worker told us the parking deck was private property and was not free today, and that we had to pay the $15 "lost ticket" fee in order to leave (the normal parking fee would have been $4). Today I arrived around 1:00 pm for the Somerville, NJ St. Patrick’s Day Parade. I was guided by a worker to park in your Edge at Main “public” parking deck instead of the ShopRite lot. The entrance guard was up, but myself and several cars attempted to pay the $4.00 fee for entrance to no avail. Finally, a worker stopped us and told us, “You don’t need a ticket for today.” I thanked him and parked. After the parade around 3:00 pm, I noticed a [different] worker at the guards and that both guards were working. By the time my vehicle made it in the long line down to the guards around 3:30 pm, I explained to the worker that the guards weren’t working when I entered and what the other worker had said [as many people told him before me].
