I had tenants move out of my rural rental house after 3 years. This coincided with my dog tearing her ACL, and having an ear infection and UTI. I was 200 miles away from the house when I found out a wall was collapsing. My dog was my priority however, so I'd have to handle this debacle long distance. The 1st contractor I contacted had a nice conversation with me, and then never returned my call. The 2nd set up a zoom call, which annoyed me, then asked for 35,000 dollars. When I said that was absurd, he angrily said my place would be condemned,. Mark was the 3rd man I spoke to. He went right to my place and with welcome humor acknowledged, yes, my wall was collapsing. He could tell I was overwhelmed and said he'd come up with 3 estimates, from which I could choose depending on my finances.
