Manchester Floodwall Walk Observation Area

What a beautiful walk and place to enjoy the views of Richmond. We visited last weekend and it was hot 🥵 waited til 8pm to check this out with our dog and its definitely a place to see.

This floodwall has a great walking path across the top, with beautiful skyline views of richmond. For a loop walk: recommend starting at browns island, then take the potterfield memorial bridge to the south side of the james river. Proceed downriver (east, left from the memorial bridge) by the train trakcs to the floodwall pathway. Then once you reach the 14th street bridge, go back across the james, and proceed back along the locks pathway or the pipeline pathway back to browns island. A wonderful loop!

Great city scenery, would recommend coming at different times of day, as the city changes vastly depending on what time of day it is. Great people watching if you want to see people going river rafting

Great view of downtown Richmond from on top of the floodwall. I enjoy going there for a walk as well as photography with friends.

There are many spots along the James River Park System in RVA. Recently I came across the Floodwall walk and there is a great little spot below the lookout at the end of the Canal Walk. Beautiful spot for a sunny day!
