Marsh Design Build

We work with Marsh Design on two significant remodel projects at our home and could not be happier with the quality of the work as well as the overall service they provided. Our remodels posed structural challenges that required creative solutions to get our desired results and Marsh Design was able to deliver and keep budgets within our targets. We will undoubtedly call on them again for any other projects we have.

I think it’s quite fitting that it’s during the holiday season that I’m finally getting a moment to sit down to write this review because quite honestly - working with Zach was truly a gift. 🎁 It’s hard to articulate the level of appreciation (and perhaps admiration) I have for Zach. As a realtor that works with contractors daily - the level of discernment and lack of true trust is high. I can feel the need to micro-manage contractors because I’ve seen one too many inspection reports. But I remember the day, early on-that I walked outside and fully gave up control to let Zac do his thing. He’s extremely detail oriented, meticulous, patient, kind---a true professional. First off, if I could give more stars I would---Zach's work is a perfect 10 out of 5 stars. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He built a tiny home in my backyard this year. Not only is the finished product beautiful, but the process was better than I could have imagined. He was wonderful to work with. Zach was a great communicator through every step. He set us up with a time line for the many steps of the project, which he updated multiple times a week (and finished ahead of schedule). He also set us up with a spreadsheet so it was clear to us what design/hardware decisions we needed to make and on what timeline. He was patient and so helpful with all of our questions. I reached out to Zach about building a small detached office space in our backyard. He quickly responded and got to work putting together a very thorough and clear estimate. After a couple discussions with Zach, it was clear to both of us that our target budget wasn't going to fit their process so we decided to not move forward. However, even after that decision, he was more than willing to offer guidance and consultation on how we could go about finding a reputable contractor and complete the project within our budget. I greatly appreciate his honesty and graciousness even though we chose to go in a different direction. I strongly recommend Zach and his team to anyone in the Portland area who's looking for a reputable, honest, and trustworthy contractor.

Zach and team were an absolute joy to work with. Our neighbors and family were astonished at the pace with which the project was completed. Communication was incredibly clear, punctual, and respectful. All of our concerns were addressed. The team went above and beyond to ensure our safety, and also point out items unrelated to the project that would either save us money in the future or needed to be addressed in order to prevent damage to our home. The diligence of the builders was incredible, and the attention to detail was reassuring. We had a small dance studio put into our backyard.
