One star… they were prompt initially and of course proactive in consulting with us to get our money and signed contract for removal of existing flooring, refinishing of some hardwood in place, laying additional hardwood, sanding and staining all to match. Their communication is terrible once the process starts, we were constantly fishing for information and having to call and check on things - they’re extremely reactive overall. Once they put the flooring in we were excited they did a fine job with that, we picked stain color and then they started sanding and staining - that’s when everything took a turn in their quality, craftsmanship and care. Working with McSwain’s made this part of our home renovation a breeze. Dan came the day we closed- through a blizzard- to measure for the carpet installation. Kim was so helpful and knowledgeable- she worked with our original, tight timeline and was up-front about the risk of working with the asbestos tile (which ended up not being an issue). The team also made it easy to push back our install date as needed and make changes to original order. The installers came when they said they would and did excellent work. We are very pleased with the final result- it has totally transformed the space!

I had a very disappointing experience at the Blue Ash store today. I came in looking for guidance on whether I needed a vapor barrier or if I should seal my basement floor before installing a new floating floor. Three years ago, my contractor did not install a vapor barrier, and I later had moisture issues under the flooring. Because of that, I wanted to make sure I prepare the floor correctly this time before making a purchase. Unfortunately, the person at the customer service desk was rude and dismissive. Instead of being helpful, their attitude made the interaction uncomfortable. I was prepared to purchase flooring and materials but chose to leave the store feeling very upset. I hope this feedback helps improve customer service going forward.

I have ordered a several area rugs/carpet/tile from McSwain over the past 15 years. Each time it has been a positive experience. And, the sign of great company and one I will remain loyal to, is when a mistake or problem occurs and how a company handles it. Things happen! They take responsibility and make it right. Our most recent purchase was a very large area rug. Kim, at the Blue Ash store, was fantastic to work with. She helped me come up with a solution that was a little tricky in one of our rooms. And, she was amazing when we ran into a little problem. I will continue to support McSwain and continue to be a loyal customer.

The McSwain sales rep Colin Knight was knowledgeable and professional.The installer Jason Barnott was awesome. He also was very knowledgeable, thorough and professional in the installation process. Our kitchen floor is great. We are more than pleased.
