MG Handy-dandy Appliance Repair

Miguel helped fix our leaking Samsung washer. He was always upfront about his suggestions and the pros/cons so we could make an informed decision on what we were willing to pay for in order to fix it. He was was to get a hold of and schedule and he was always on time. We are happy with his honesty, timeliness, and repair work.

I have now used Handy-Dandy FOUR times for the same dryer issue, and this has turned into a complete waste of money and time. In January 2025, my dryer stopped heating. My warranty company dispatched Handy-Dandy. I paid my $100 service fee, and was told the heating element was fixed. In April 2025, the dryer stopped heating again. Handy-Dandy returned, I paid another $100 service fee, and again was told it was repaired. In June 2025, the same issue happened for the third time. Handy-Dandy came out once more with another explanation as to why the previous repairs didn’t work and claimed the issue was fixed. Now fast forward to January 2026 — my dryer is not heating AGAIN. I had my dryer repaired by Mike and his son in June 2025. They diagnosed the issue as a faulty heating element and replaced it for $263.29, including parts and labor. In November, the heating element failed again. I was told the part was still under warranty, but I paid $100 for labor. Two weeks later, the dryer stopped working again, and they returned to service it. Four days after that visit, the dryer failed once more. At that point, I was told additional parts were needed at a cost of $188.29. I declined further repairs due to the repeated failures and accumulating costs. Chris came out and listened to the issues I described - identified the problem within a few minutes - and explained the needed repairs. Once I agreed to the estimate they ordered the parts, then once received returned and completed the repairs. They do what they say - are clear about costs - and show up when they say they're coming. Great service and fair prices.

It seems that he has told quite a few people that their parts are on “back order” and same goes for us. It’s been almost a year. He doesn’t call doesn’t check in and can’t show proof of ordering these parts and won’t refund the money. If you can’t get the parts or fix the appliances you should just take the loss in money instead of taking your paying customers money. Terrible experience by far.
