Minetta Parking

I reserved this through spot hero and it was rated highly. I should have checked here. I indicated my car type on purpose because I know all these garages like to add on oversized charges last minute. For some reason it was missing when I made the reservation. To my surprise on pickup I owed $30 for oversize charge. On top of that, if La did not turn off my car properly draining my battery. I wasted an extra 30 minutes trying to charge my car. I purposely declined another cheaper garage because they pulled the same stunt but at least they added the charge on spot hero before I paid. Unfair and inept. The guy that cashed me out at least was somewhat helpful in charging my car But I had to drive my car out.

Serious safety concern: cars left unlocked, keys inside, and windows down I had a deeply concerning experience. When I returned to pick up my vehicle, I found it unlocked, with the windows down and the keys left inside. Anyone could have walked in and driven away. When I brought this up to the staff, I was told — with attitude — that this is just the garage’s policy. I was never informed about this policy beforehand, and it was not posted anywhere visibly. Leaving vehicles in this condition in the middle of New York City is incredibly irresponsible. Even worse, this practice puts any personal items left in the car at risk of theft. Bad experience. When staff was inquired about the pricing, I did indirect information that turn to be untrue. Eventually I was shown a piece of paper with some random prices scotched to a pillar instead of getting anything legit. Bottom line, avoid.

This experience was a complete rip off. One of the individuals who took my car into the garage told us that the rate was $22 before 12am. After speed walking to my vehicle I was informed it would be $53 and was told to look at the Saturday rate which were not on the board. If you need your car of course you would pay the rate given. Once again a complete rip off.

We used a parking app to book a space in this garage for 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning. The parking app indicated this garage charges a $15 oversize fee for a Honda Odyssey minivan. So we paid $60, showed up at the reservation time and got screamed at that our van was too big and that we would not be allowed to park. The attendant said he didn't care about the reservation, there was no way we could park there. What a bunch of scammers.
