Mr. Rooter

Have had this massive hole and mess in my yard for over five months. No accountability with ensuring technicians actually finish the work.

This is a complaint for over 8 months of inept service and ghosting. tl;dr, filled our cellar with sewage after not putting drain cap on pipe in cellar after coming to check a clog, refuses to own up and clean the mess. In June of 2025, we were having issues with the new drain pipes Mr. Rooter installed into our home, all of our pipes have been replaced by them at this point. After running an Auger in our drain pipe in the cellar, they left the drain cap off, and, without telling us or putting it back on, allowed our sewage to run underneath our house into our cellar for 6+ months before we had a different company come out in the second week of January 2026 to reinstall the toilet Mr. Rooter failed to install properly in our bathroom, finding the 6+ months of sewage piled in our Cellar. Workers were very polite, but the effort they put into fixing/not fixing my sewer clog was little to none. I’ve been dealing with this problem (roots in my sewer line) at least once per year for the past 20 years. I’m at the age where I need to let someone else handle it which is why I called a plumbing company. They weren’t even letting the auger run to let it do its job. They would hit the button/pedal and let it run for maybe 2-3 seconds at a time at most. It wasn’t even close to 10 minutes and they gave up. I was of course upset because I feel as though they made no effort to clear the pipe and I still got charged full price. I asked them to try a different bit and they told me they only had the one. Early i posted a review that I need to retract. That review was requested by Jamie at the beginning of Mr.Rooter services which had been going well. He told me there was a contest at work so I posted a review at that time. Things changed as work progressed skyrocketing expenses that are totally out of line according to professionals I talked to. Also my yard was destroyed and left in shambles. Landscaping was destroyed without regard to my property and left that way telling me they would be back in EIGHT weeks! (Why does a 4ft. wide trench result in dirt and debris being spread 70 ft. Why wasn't the extra dirt put in a truck so that it didn't disturb the surrounding lawn?)Their invoice included a picture of a mold covered room that is NOT my property. They charged me for water and mold

We called because it's a big name brand company. Well beware. They are just a scam. The guy came out to snake our kitchen sink because it was clogged. He put the snake in once and pulled it out saying he didn't feel anything and we would have to pay $50 more for a camera guy to come out. I asked him how long it would take he said he should be here in less than an hour. Well we waited and waited. I called 3 hours later and the call center said the camera guy showed up and no one was home. It was a total lie. We were home the entire time sitting next to the door waiting. The call center rescheduled for sometime within the next two hours. Guy still didn't show and said the exact same thing. We were home. A bunch of lies. We are now fighting for our money back because of their lack of service.
